BGC Partners To Hold First Annual Charity Day On September 12Th

London, September 8, 2005 – BGC Partners, the worldwide brokerage firm operating in the global fixed income markets, announced today the launch of its first annual charity event to be held on September 12, 2005.

In preparation for the event, Chairman Lee Amaitis of BGC Partners, welcomed support from Australian cricket legend Shane Warne and rising England star Kevin Pietersen at their London offices yesterday, both of whom were united in their efforts to help support charities in need a day before the final Ashes Test.

Warne and Pietersen manned the phones at the inter-dealer broker which will donate all revenues to a number of charities including:

·          CLIC Sargent, which supports children suffering from leukaemia or
cancer

·          Charities chosen by clients – 20% of each client’s revenue on that
day donated to
their nominated charity

·          The Cantor Foundation, which will distribute to charities it supports
including the
Cantor Fitzgerald Relief fund and theEuro Brokers
Relief Fund

·          The Shane Warne Foundation which raises money to support
various established
charities such as the Make a Wish
Foundation, plus Kevin Pietersen’s selected
charity

Lee Amaitis said, “We are delighted that Shane and Kevin can take time out off the field to support this event and their chosen charities. We are also extremely grateful to our clients who have embraced the spirit of what we hope will be a great day in the pursuit of helping those in need.”

To promote the day further, various celebrities including Rory Bremner, Gary Lineker, Lawrence Dallaglio, Zara Philips, Barry McGuigan and Eddie Jordan will be present at BGC’s offices on Monday 12th and will also help man a number of phones on the BGC trading floor, speaking with both staff and clients.
