New York – September 12, 2005 – BGC Partners, the worldwide brokerage firm operating in the global fixed income markets, announced today the launch of its first annual charity event.
Lee Amaitis, Chairman of BGC Partners, welcomed support from former New York Giants superstar Harry Carson, former New York Jets great, Boomer Esiason, and New York Yankees superstar Mariano Rivera at their New York offices today.
Mr. Carson, Mr. Esiason, and Mr. Rivera will man the phones at the inter-dealer broker which will donate all revenues to a number of charities including, CLIC Sargent, which supports children suffering from leukemia or cancer; charities chosen by clients – 20% of each client’s revenue will be donated to their nominated charity, and the Cantor Foundation, which will distribute to charities it supports including the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and the Euro Brokers Relief Fund.
